Heather McCormack-Moon, MA, LPC
With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I offer a grounded, compassionate space for deep, meaningful therapy.
My work is rooted in a trauma-informed approach, and I have extensive experience supporting individuals navigating the effects of trauma and dissociative disorders.
While I specialize in trauma recovery, I also love working with LGBTQ+ clients, people exploring identity, and those healing from religious harm or spiritual wounding. My style is collaborative and relational, centered on curiosity, respect, and your inner wisdom. Whether you're seeking greater clarity, healing, or personal growth, I offer steady, thoughtful support as you work through what matters most to you—at a pace that feels right.
Education and Training
I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Over the years, I have sought out advanced training with leaders in the field of trauma and dissociation to deepen and strengthen my work.
EMDR Therapy: I am trained to provide EMDR and especially value my training with Roger Solomon (grief work) and Dolores Mosquera (complex trauma and dissociative disorders). I continue to pursue ongoing training, consultation, and support in EMDR because I find this work both effective and meaningful.
Structural Dissociation & Trauma-Related Dissociation: From 2011–2014, I completed a three-year clinical residency under the supervision of Kathy Steele. This intensive training marked a turning point in my specialization in dissociative disorders and laid the foundation for the work I do today.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Early in my career, I participated in intensive training with Alan Fruzetti and worked on a DBT treatment team supporting clients coping with trauma and addiction. I have also facilitated DBT skills training groups, weaving those practical tools into my broader therapeutic approach.

I work best with individuals who are ready to engage deeply with their inner world and take an active role in how their insight-oriented work unfolds over time. Many clients I work well with have traumatic histories and are seeking a therapy process that honors their agency, emphasizes emotional safety, and supports symptom relief, insight and change at a pace they help determine. If this resonates with you, I invite you to contact me for a consultation to explore whether we might be a good fit.
